Lexie came to us as a baby....her mom had rejected her. Not getting the colostrum she needed from mom, she was at the animal hospital for three days. She had to have a plasma transfusion through a catheter in her neck. Lexie was very sick and also had bacteria in her tiny body. Our vet, Dr. Berger, told us she had a 50/50 chance of survival.
We brought Lexie home on day six she was drinking from a bottle. She remained on penicillin shots for a week. With lots of love, care and our wonderful vet's help, Lexie made it. Seven years have passed since this sickly little girl came to us. She's a sweetheart and still loves a bottle if given the chance.
Lexie is living in the herd and enjoying life!
