Cimmeron's Story

Cimmeron, Belonged to a man,  who kept the horse by
himself for over 16 years. When the man became ill and could no longer care for Cimmeron, the horse wondered the neighborhood and almost starved to death. A kind lady and her friend took him in, to give him a home. When he was loaded in the trailer, he was very weak, and went down in the trailer. His legs became tangled in the divider. The fire department & Large Animal Rescue had to CUT him out of the trailer. When they got this horse out, he had to have several stitches, and was in shock. When this lady could no longer care for him, we were called. We picked him up and took him straight to the vet. He needs his teeth floated, but our Vet feels it is dangerous to sedate him at his current weight. We need to get 150 lbs. on him first. We are hoping to start his dental work. Depending on how he progresses with his weight gain. Cimmeron, is such a sweet soul, everyone loves him. He lived most of his life alone, with no herd to be a part of.  The only other horse he ever bonded with, died, the day before he came to live with us. At 21 years old, he had never even seen a mare! He is now in a herd of  10.  5 mares & 4 geldings. He is in total awe, of the Mares. He is learning ALOT. It took him awhile to adjust, but he is getting there. He is truly home in this herd, and in our hearts!  He will never be lacking for a herd or a home again. We are so blessed, to have known such a noble soul as
Cimmeron.
